(Produced 2004-2006, released 2006) The
Art Rimbaud Project is the title of a double-CD album with English, German
and French songs based on texts by poet Arthur Rimbaud, produced by artists' group
ISCH ART of which Tony Caulfield was a member.
In merely 37 years of a
life that encompassed a spectrum from exuberantly exhilarating to crushingly tragic,
Jean-Nicholas-Arthur Rimbaud (20.10.1854 - 10.11.1891) created a body of poetry
and autobiographical texts that were unique and groundbreaking in their time...and
still are today.
Arthur Rimbaud's style has influenced a large number of
artists throughout the times and still continues to do so over a century after
his death. Considered an outcast and rebel by the majority of his era's society,
his genius being appreciated by only a few while he lived, Arthur Rimbaud is today
acknowledged as a visionary, one of the first proponents of the free verse style
and a predecessor to the surrealists.
The intensity and the timeless emotional
impact of Arthur Rimbaud's work make his poetry the perfect song lyrics. A project
aiming at composing songs based on a selection of Rimbaud's poems was long predestined
to be.
Tony Caulfield did the vocals for some of the songs
and is featured in a music video to go with the song Ich Treibe In Die Blaue
Ewigkeit which is based on Rimbaud's poem Sensations. To download the
music video please visit the Media
page.
Moreover, Tony portrayed and voiced Arthur Rimbaud in a flash-animated
Arthur Rimbaud biography which is featured on the ARP
page of the Voice section of Tony Caulfield.com.

The
32-page color booklet contains song lyrics, info on the involved artists, pics,...
The project's official site art-rimbaud.de
has been partially sabotaged by an ISCH ART team member, due to lies being spread
about Tony Caulfield (For more about that read Tony's second book Du
mußt sühnen - Dokumentation eines psychologischen Mordversuchs (You must expiate
- Documentation of a psychological murder attempt)). However the
site still features a jukebox, lyrics, (translations of) Rimbaud poems, Rimbaud
related info, quotes and many pics, all about most members of ISCH ART, a remix
contest, Rimbaud-themed cooking recipes, a poetry box,...and a lot more.
Meanwhile, there is also an Art
Rimbaud Project page on myspace, where you can listen to some of the songs.
