Ralf Burmester
Ralf Burmester is one of Germany's most innovative top special
FX and FX make-up artists. The special effects Ralf Burmester created for
several Lee/Leroc Filmworkshop productions are a priceless contribution
to both the story and the visual impact of the movies!
Ralf launched his film industry career in 1997 while he was still studying
at the renowned Cologne Media College when he directed the horror spoof
'Torsil Ultra - The Attack of the One Foot Killersocks', produced by Lee/Leroc
Filmworkshop and packed with stunning special effects, hand-made by Ralf
and his team.
The following year Ralf Burmester directed the short film 'Onkel' ('Uncle'),
a brief but intense psychological thriller, starring Lee/Leroc owner and
CEO Ingo Trendelbernd
(as Ingo Lee) that concentrated on illuminating the abyss of the human mind
and totally did without any special effects.
However, the fascination with special effects and the ever-thrilling process
of finding innovative solutions to create them brought Ralf back to the
FX department. He proceeded to work as FX Supervisor for Lee/Leroc screenwriter
Dirk Woiciech's 'Evil
Love' and as a production designer for Woiciech's 'Mission Omega'.
Together with Lee/Leroc co-founder and media artist Gerd
Richter, he was responsible for the extensive special FX sequences in
Christian Theede's 'Asian Love Syndicate' and he designed and manufactured
the special props for the action thriller 'Real
Buddy' that's currently filming.
In 2000 Ralf took care of the special effects and production design for
Lee/Leroc Filmworkshop's feature 'Death:
Download', an action thriller co-written by Gerd Richter and starring
Ingo Lee.
In 2003 Ralf Burmester, assisted by Andrea Muenzberg, created the breathtaking
special FX (in service of the story) and special make-up effects for Lee/Leroc
Filmworkshop's horror/fantasy feature 'Evil
Knights' and in 2004 he did the special FX for Lee/Leroc's rape & revenge
thriller 'Blood
Angel 2', a remake of the legendary cult classic 'I
Spit On Your Grave'.
More of Ralf Burmester's special FX work can be see in the Lee/Leroc Filmworkshop
produced horror/comedy feature 'The
Unbelievable Terror'.
