TONY
CAULFIELD =[ ROGER >
Roger is a strange
guy with a lot of peculiarities that everybody finds funny. He studies Germanistic
and was with Juergen's clique right from the beginning. In spite of his quirks
Roger appears totally harmless all in all,... nobody knows of his dark side that
hides beneath the serene-eccentric surface.
Tony Caulfield has "thought
in films and video clips" and wanted to act in movies since
he was a small kid. Yet he started late to pursue a career
in the movies. After having survived a long time of sickness
he first studied philosophy for a while, painted and wrote
horror/fantasy and "splatterpunk" stories that
have been published in a book titled 'Das Buch des Wahns'
(The Book of Madness').

Tony Caulfield's acting career started with the starring role in 'Accept',
a breathtaking mystery/action-thriller, loaded with amazing special effects, followed
by playing the title role in 'Slayer',
a chilling homage to the tradition of dark and haunting horror-thrillers with
a real story and a touch of who-dunnit suspense. Both movies are currently in
post production.
Then came 'Evil Knights' in which Tony starred as the
eccentric Roger. Tony Caulfield captured the unique personality of the character,
brought it to life and gave it a soul.
In 2005, Tony Caulfield starred
as professor Hoden Langston in Dogma 2005 Productions' crime/comedy feature 'Das
Geheimnis der Stählernen Holztür' ('The Mystery of the Steely Wood Door').
All dialogue in this movie was improvised onset! The actors merely received a
rough plot and a list of character names before the shoot.
Also in 2005,
Tony played the Master of the Circle (Master Narrator) in Lee/Leroc's horror/comedy
feature 'The
Unbelievable Terror' and did a cameo appearance in Henning Christiansen's
'Blaupause'
('Blueprint'), a short film that received the Film and Cinema Award of the State
of Hessen in the category Best Screenplay.
Since 2004 Tony Caulfield
has been co-producing a double-CD album with English, German and French songs
based on the works of poet Arthur Rimbaud, titled Art
Rimbaud Project.
Tony did the vocals for some of the songs, is featured
in a music
video and portrayed and voiced Arthur in a flash-animated
Arthur Rimbaud biography. The album was released in 2006.

Tony Caulfield's further finished projects
include the development of the treatment for a feature film
(working title: Elegy For A Clown's Heart), the publishing
of various texts
and numerous projects in the fields of graphic design, web
design and advertising design, as well as translation and
localization.
In 2007, Tony Caulfield published his second book, a non-fiction
book titled Du
mußt sühnen - Dokumentation eines psychologischen Mordversuchs
(You must expiate - Documentation of a psychological murder
attempt). The book is illustrated with paintings he created
in 2006.
In November 2007, Tony Caulfield founded Floracentric
Enterprises, a group of companies currently including
Art
& Design Company (ADC), the art label Tony
Caulfield and Eskapismus.com.
On Halloween (31.10.) 2008, some of Tony Caulfield's paintings
were on display at the art gallery fingerspitzundkunst
in Kaiserslautern (in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany), on
the occasion of his reading from Das Buch des Wahns
which took place there.
In the morning of the same day, Tony also did a live reading
of some passages from this book at the local radio station
Antenne
Kaiserslautern.
The next reading from the same book, together with the opening
of a three-weeks-long exhibition - this time including new
paintings from the creation period 2006-2009 - took place
on April 4, 2009 at the Café23
in Kaiserslautern.
On May 30, 2009, another
single exhibition at the gallery fingerspitzundkunst
started with a vernissage. The works are on display until
June 26.
Currently, Tony is working on new art and design projects,
as well as on the preparation of upcoming exhibitions.

Here is what Tony had to say about the story, his role
and the shoot:
"I read the script through without putting it down and afterwards
I knew I wanted to be part of this. Since I was a kid I
always loved scary movies and I still enjoy watching them.
So I recognized all the funny homages to legends of that
genre.
But most of all, there was a real story and well-developed
characters who are all real people. Sometimes in these movies
the characters are depicted in a very cynical way and you
can't identify with them anymore cause they're just designed
to be meat for the slaughter. In Evil Knights the tragedy
comes across, but there are also funny moments and parody
elements.
Oh, and of course there are a lot of stunning special effects.
I greatly enjoyed to see how they're done, and I even got
to play one of the undead knights in a few scenes, which
was a lot of fun. Watch closely whether you can spot me
as one of them.
I instantly liked the character of Roger very much. I've
always felt he's a very smart guy who just enjoys to behave
a bit weird once in a while to see how his friends react
to that. Reminded me of some of my years in high school.
But seriously, I think he's a type of guy who, on the one
hand, likes to entertain, maybe even creep some people out
and, on the other hand, acts weird as a way to deal with
a world that often seems very weird to him. He likes to
hang with his friends but also feels the need to make them
go "ohmygod, what's Roger doing again?".
He's ambivalent about himself and he's got his dark sides
as well; they're being revealed in the movie.
Shooting 'Evil Knights' was a unique experience. There was
so much to laugh about every day. I had the time of my life
working together with the people involved. I'm still in
touch with many of them and some have become friends. On
every shoot some difficulties arise once in a while, but
we always found a solution for everything.
The movie was huge fun in the making and I know it will
be huge fun to watch it, too. I'm very much looking forward
to the premiere."
